During this one hour session, we will demonstrate key features of this program including importing citations from databases or from a web search, creating bibliographies, and incorporating citations into your writing.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize the benefits of using Mendeley
  • Identify the differences between the Web version and the desktop version
  • Learn how to add citations to Mendeley
  • Discover how to cite while you write
  • Use Mendeley groups for team research projects

Who should attend?

Are you new to citation management, or new to Mendeley? Do you collaborate with colleagues outside of AHS? This session will prepare you to use Mendeley as part of your research process. As explained in the KRS FAQs, http://krs.libanswers.com/faq/128996, we recommend Mendeley for small-scale projects undertaken by individuals or small teams of up to 3 people. Please note that Mendeley is a free citation management system.

If research is a primary area of focus in your work, please check out our session on RefWorks, a citation manager designed for large-scale projects.

Note: You will have to contact AHS IT to have Mendeley installed on your AHS desktop.
