Welcome and thank you for registering in an Evidence At Your Fingertips education session!

Description

Simplify your research project with Mendeley! Learn how this citation manager can be used to collect, manage, share and cite references. During this one hour session, we will demonstrate key features of this program including importing citations from databases or from a web search, creating bibliographies, and incorporating citations into your writing.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the differences between the Mendeley web and desktop versions
  • Import citations and create bibliographies
  • Use the citation plugin for Microsoft Word to add in-text citations and bibliographies
  • Create Mendeley groups for team research projects

Who should attend?

Are you new to citation management, or new to Mendeley? Do you collaborate with colleagues outside of AHS? This session will prepare you to use Mendeley as part of your research process. As explained in the KRS FAQs, http://krs.libanswers.com/faq/128996, we recommend Mendeley for small-scale projects undertaken by individuals or small teams of up to 3 people. Please note that Mendeley is a free citation management system.

If research is a primary area of focus in your work, please check out our session on RefWorks, a citation manager designed for large-scale projects.

Note: You will have to contact AHS IT to have Mendeley installed on your AHS desktop.
