Welcome and thank you for registering!
Description
Develop more systematic and comprehensive searches with this in-depth look at the search process. We’ll start by looking at the types of evidence available in research databases and the study designs that provide the strongest evidence. We will then examine the components of a bibliographic record, and how to enhance your searches using a combination of subject headings and keywords. 60 minutes.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the ideal study design for your question
- Recognise that databases differ in scope (e.g. geography, language, topics, study design)
- Understand how searching the article record differs from full text searching
- Build a search in MEDLINE, using subject headings and keywords
- Refine results by question type and study design using Clinical Queries
